Who is responsible
Exam Trail Hải Yến is run by Hải Yến for 1-on-1 teaching and exam practice. For any question about your data, use the contacts at the bottom of this page.
What we store
- Your account: name, email and password (stored as a one-way hash nobody can read).
- Your learning: assigned tests, your answers and Writing, scores, timings, your teacher’s feedback and notes, your target score and exam date.
- Live review sessions: what you and your teacher write on your answers.
- Mock tests without an account: a random guest id in a cookie, the name you type (if any), your answers, and your email if you leave it to get your Writing marked.
We use no advertising or behavioural tracking tools, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.
What it is used for
- Letting you take tests, scoring them and keeping your progress.
- Letting your teacher follow and review your work and choose what you do next.
- Sending the emails an account needs: verification codes and password resets. No marketing email.
Where it is kept
Data is kept on servers of Cloudflare (your work, scores and test files) and Amazon Web Services in Singapore (log-in accounts and email). Both process it only to run the service. Connections are always encrypted (HTTPS).
How long
Your learning data is kept for as long as you study, so your progress is never lost, until you ask for it to be erased. Nothing is erased automatically after a set time.
The guest cookie expires after 180 days without use.
Your rights
- See and download: in the app, “My data” lets you download everything about you as one file.
- Correct: ask your teacher to fix anything that is wrong.
- Erase: ask from “My data”, or contact us directly (for a mock test without an account). Your teacher erases your tests, scores and feedback and takes you out of the class; this cannot be undone.
- Withdraw consent: you can stop using the service and ask for erasure at any time.
Students under 16
If you are under 16, a parent or guardian needs to agree to your using the service. A parent may ask to see or erase your data on your behalf.
Cookies and browser storage
We only use what the app needs to work: your log-in session, the guest id for mock tests, your chosen language and a temporary copy of the test you are taking. No advertising cookies.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
